Sterilization & infection control

Go Mobile Dental Hygiene is proud to offer a complete clinical experience. Thought and preparation has gone into building an in- depth Infection Control Manual that has outlined every single step we must take to provide exceptional service and public safety.

Here are only a few of the many measures taken by us:

– Many plastic barriers are used on the equipment and anything we would come in contact with to prevent cross-contamination. Surfaces also go through 2 complete wipe downs with disinfectant.

– All tools used come in sterilised sealed packages, sealed into containers. Soiled instruments are taken away in sealed containers for sterilisation. Some are just one time use disposable items.

– Sterilisation is done in a dental office sterilisation area that has been inspected both by the College of Registered Dental Hygienists of Alberta and the Alberta Dental Association, to ensure the highest levels of standards are met.

– Tools are washed by a machine called a “Hydrim”, then packaged with biological indicators, stamped to record specific loads and go into an Autoclave for high heat sterilisation.

– Each load we put through the autoclave is monitored with a biological test that ensures complete successful sterilisation. The autoclave also has a print out that records all the details of each load, an additional safety feature.

– From how we remove our gloves, to how we dispose of waste, to always carrying a medical emergency kit, we have a plan for it and we are ready to care for you!
